A library in the middle of a community is a cross between an emergency exit, a life raft and a festival. They are cathedrals of the mind; hospitals of the soul; theme parks of the imagination. On a cold, rainy island, they are the only sheltered public spaces where you are not a consumer, but a citizen, instead.

I just love Caitlin Moran's stuff. And libraries! I love libraries! How many great minds have emerged from the stacks of the public library?
ReplyDeleteHave you read How to Be a Woman? If not, you should!
ReplyDeleteYup. It's one of the few Nook books I actually own. I usually borrow ebooks from the library, but I didn't want to wait for it. Or maybe they didn't even have it. Either way, I own it. Isn't she terrific?
ReplyDeleteShe certainly gets your attention!
